The Francis Lab integrates satellite and airborne remote sensing with field data to understand forest disturbance regimes and how they are responding to climate change and management.

We are based in the Department of Forest and Rangeland Stewardship at Colorado State University.

Lab Values

In the Francis Lab, we value research integrity, honesty, and responsible stewardship of research products (code and data). We work to promote an academic environment that is supportive of all lab members, which often requires educating ourselves about systemic barriers to participation and making a concerted effort reduce or eliminate those barriers. Each lab member (including Emily) is expected to be respectful and to contribute to creating a hardworking, supportive, and collaborative environment. We like forest ecology and quantitative analysis a lot.
